The Summit is over and a North-American team takes home the grand prize of $46,061. In a five-game series between
Team DK and
Evil Geniuses the latter managed to secure the victory. Both teams showed impressive Dota throughout the whole tournament and delivered a wordworthy final.
Beyond The Summit managed to host a very interesting tournament which has been used as a training ground for The International 4. Here’s a little summary for the participants.
Fnatic
- The Dota 2 boygroup had to play without
Adrian ‘Era‘ Kryeziu due to health issues but had a solid stand-in in
Steven ‘Excalibur‘ Ye. He single-handedly won the group stage match against DK with his Tinker play (after DK allowed him to free farm). But after all Fnatic ended up on the shared 5th and 6th place with room for improvement.

Evil Geniuses
- The North-American hope proved its strength and is now officially a favorite for the biggest tournament. They struggled a bit in the group stage but dominated the playoffs and won The Summit.
Natus Vincere
- Last year’s The International runner-up was playing bad before The Summit but used the tournament as a small bootcamp that showed its early fruits in their games. They finished on the fourth place after loosing against EG in the lower bracket.
Natus Vincere NA
- The North-American squad of Na’Vi only won one map/game in the whole tournament. They definitely have some work to do before The International 4 to contest the Top 8.
Team DK
- In one word: solid. DK played solid but they seem to have problems with final matches. The dream team is of course part of the TI favorites.
Vici Gaming
- They’re struggling and have to improve on their drafting and decision-making if they want to go all the way at The International.
There has also been a 1on1 tournament for the 5th in-game ticket stretch goal. Merlini, Excalibur, fy and Funn1k participated in ‘For A Few Tangoes More‘. In the end fy proved why he is named as one of the best Dota 2 players in the world by the big teams.
